Hand Sew Felt Tutorial - Whip Stitch

Saturday, October 4, 2008

Whip stitch are the most commonly used stitches. It is good for sewing 2 pieces of felt fabrics together to create round shapes. It is normally use with same colored threads which is one of the advantages of using whip stitch as uneven stitches will not be too obvious.

Here's how you sew whip stitch.

Put two pieces of felt fabrics together (with the right sides facing outwards). Insert the needle through the fabric A.

Next insert the needle through both pieces of fabric from B to A at a slight diagonal angle.

Pull out your needle.

Insert the needle through both pieces of fabric from B to A at a slight diagonal angle again and pull out the needle.

Repeat the same steps aboves and you have your whip stitch.
